3 Ways Video Can Boost Your Traffic

Creating video is not a new trend. However, not all video is good video. It’s important to create relevant, timely and interesting video content if you intend to boost your traffic. Below are three effective ways to boost your traffic using online video:

1.       Keep it Simple—you don’t have to be elaborate and spend thousands of dollars to have an effective video. Just think of all the homemade videos on YouTube that go viral every single day. It’s more important to have a clear message and a simple approach. It is possible to be detail-oriented without detail-overload.

2.       Keep it Short— No-one has time to watch your 30-minute snooze fest of a video, in fact, no-one has time to watch your 5 minute video!  Ideally your video should be no longer than 2-3 minutes. If you can’t get your message across in 3 minutes then you don’t have a clear message…Try again.

3.       Share Like CrazyEach day 2 billion videos are watched on YouTube. With that being said, if you’re not posting your videos to YouTube, start now! And, there are several other great video hosting sites, such as Viddler and Vimeo that you can post your video to. And don’t stop there. Post your videos to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, your website, your email signature and anywhere else that it can be viewed and shared.

The average US Internet user watches186 online video per month. Video is everywhere and it’s not going away. So use these three steps on your next video and watch your traffic soar.

Here’s a few examples of some engaging videos that Blue created!

Florida Med-Retreat: The purpose of this was to build national awareness and transparency for medical tourism to Sarasota, FL.

Red Moon Solutions: Blue Brothers – This helped to promote Red Moon’s presence at a major tax industry conference, Vertex.
